SUMMER is Tohoshinki‘s (or DBSK’s) 13th Japanese Single, It was released on August the 1st, in two versions. A CD only version which features a 12-page booklet as a first press bonus, and a CD+DVD version which features the Music Video of Summer Dream and an Off Shot Clip. This single hit #1 in the Oricon daily charts but wasn’t able to maintain that position. Instead, the position was taken by Hey!Say!7 by a small gap of 8,000 copies approx. But still, SUMMER is DBSK‘s best selling single in japan with sales over 112,771 copies in the first week only.

Summer Dream is a refreshing summer-y pop song with a very catchy chorus. There is a rap part in the bridge which I really liked! Nothing to mention other than that, still, a very fun song to listen! 😀

The 2nd A-Side is Song for you, a is pop-ish song, but much more laid back than the first track. I like this song more than Summer Dream & I love the acoustic guitar at the end of the song :p

Love in the Ice is a summer ballad, this song changes the mood of the single. I just love this track! It should’ve been the song with an MV really. DBSK’s vocals are great too, they handled the track very well. (the bridge ROX!)

Overall:

I was really wrong about this single, at first I thought they were another boy band with HOT looks to attract girls & sucking voices/songs… guess what, I was somehow wrong :p

Well, at least this single is far from being a “Sucker” lol, I was honestly surprised when I re-listened to the single,though it “sucked” to me the first time I heard it.. :p

I’m definitely going a step back, and hear songs well before making any judgment..

I guess I made a big deal out of nothing :p
