58th Kouhaku Uta Gassen : Highlights

I’ve always liked the Boys Vs. Girls idea, and that’s what Kouhaku is all about! The KOU (red): represents the girls and the Haku (white) represents the men. Kouhaku is the highest rated musical show in Japan so, it’s a HUGE opportunity for less known artists to shine! Unfortunately, not everyone is welcome! Only those with a special invitation to the program can perform in this 4 hour+ show.

Lots of ballads out there >.>;

BoA is performing a “Winter Ballad Special“…I guess (or I hope!) the medly will be Winter Love + Meri Kuri. For the record, BoA is know as a “Queen of Winter Songs” in Japan according to a recent Oricon poll while Meri Kuri ranked 6th Best Winter Song in Japan of all time. Her Ballad songs seem to get lots of attention. Meri Kuri, Winter Love & Love Letter appeared on Gyao’s Special Christmas songs list in 2005, 2006 & 2007 respectively. Also, an outstanding performance of moon & sunrise performed in her “B0A the Live” Zepp Live Tour grabbed attention around Japan as one of the most touching performances ever. The performances brought thousands to tears…
